Jul. 16th, 2001 12:26 ambleh... i have a sore throat, and a bit of a headache with it. this isn't cool. i hope it goes away soon. i drank some orange juice, and i'll have some echinacea/eucalyptus tea in a little bit, before i go to sleep.
watched eric stoltz's new movie earlier, my horrible year!, a cute teen comedy that reminded me of seven minutes in heaven only less sex-obsessed.
lately i can't stand to watch tv for very long, and i hate it being on all day. i feel like an old woman. then again, most old women i've known had it on all the time. so maybe it's just that i am approaching middle age.
so we watched the usual HBO stuff and then mists of avalon, to which i have recently been affectionately referring as "Mists of Crap-a-thon." it's different from the book (with which i have Problems, obviously). sometimes in good ways and sometimes in bad ways. they made Raven look like a total industrial chick tho... coooool. but a lot of the complexities have been removed, and i think the emotional spell went with them... and i thought that was about all the book really had going for it. so there's no kevin, guinevere isn't agoraphobic, etc. some of the dialogue is really laughably bad, and i don't like the narration or frequent visual flashbacks. the teleplay seems kind of amateurish. not that it seems like the easiest book in the world to adapt. the performances are at least decent so far.
