Still up with headache! I found some "liniment" in the cabinet downstairs called something like Arthritis Relief Rub. It looks like a patent medicine and claims to have no bad smell.

Um, LIES! Its primary ingredients are things like camphor, wintergreen, and rosemary extract, so you can imagine how totally Ben Gay it is. Icy Hot! I rubbed it all over my neck and shoulders and it made my eyes tingle. I wore a hot-wrap around my neck.

I also put liniment on my gardening injury.

Also, I did a New York Times Friday crossword puzzle (which I believe are supposed to be very hard... they ARE hard; I cheat a lot by checking my answers).

When I was doing a lot of Office training last week, which I have to get back to tomorrow, I was having eye problems, and my head started to hurt. That was actually the genesis of this headache, which I have been fighting off for days. I will have to wear my oft-ignored glasses if I want to do more training.

All I really want to listen to is classical music.

So it is official! I have become elderly. *sigh*

(What other old-people things could I be up to?)

Are italics 'elderly'?

No, but evidence should be italicized.

It's nice how I'm treating this headache that I believe I got from sittin' in a chair and starin' at a computer screen for too many hours in a row. Sittin' on my bed and starin' at a computer screen. BOOYAH!

I see.

Also, is 'putting liniment on your gardening injury' anything like digging a hole for your rosebush?

Inquiring minds...

ha ha you said "bush" ha ha

Well, i got the "gardening injury" while "digging" said "hole" for said "rosebush." although it's not really an "injury", just the fact that i am creaky and out of shape. LIKE AN OLD PERSON. Three days later and my achy muscles are still achy.

So, in other words, YES. EXACTLY LIKE THAT.

Of course, if you USE ALL CAPS at RANDOM, you're a VORTICIST.
From: [identity profile] verbminx.livejournal.com
I'm never random, except when I say I am.

(What does that make me? Pretentious? ;)

PS taketh the icon not personally; it's just part of my new elderly persona.

That's okay, you shouldn't take this one personally, either; it's just part of my new cantankerous bastard persona.

Oh wait, that's not new.

You forgot about the knitting. Knitting gets me more old lady comments than anything.

I haven't been knitting lately.
It's worse than that.
It's crochet.

I have a book of afghan patterns out of the library, even, and I am considering making one with Wool-Ease.

Hey, at least it isn't harvest gold/rust/avocado Red Heart. That's just unforgivable.

The only good Red Heart is "Mexicana" - I wish someone made a copy of it in, like, decent yarn. (the colors - so clear! so happy!)

Lorna's Laces makes a rainbow shade, but I've heard that the color repeats are too short and they pool oddly. The only Lorna's yarn I've used is Shepherd Sport in Purple Iris and it didn't really pool at all, and sooooo soft.

I have some pastelly-type Shepherd's Sock that I bought a few years ago, but I haven't used it. (Because remember what I said about me and socks? AGES.) I think they'll be made into a pair of lacy socks either from Knitting on the Road or an issue of IK from two, two-point-five years ago.

it's buttery soft, esp compared to anything but Koigu merino. I gotta get me some more Koigu. I really want to make that Charlotte's Web shawl in some kind of muted-rainbowy colorway, but I haven't been able to afford to....
