OK, seriously, seriously, seriously. I am renaming Alias. It will henceforth be known as Ali-ASS. Because that show jumped the shark last year. In fact, all JJ Abrams's shows jump the shark when he goes to work on his next major TV project: Felicity sank in earnest with the advent of Alias, so I thought there was a pretty good chance that Alias would quickly become lame once Lost was on the air. And it is, and it did, and so on. And I don't believe for two minutes together the stuff that happened at the end of the episode, even if they are currently saying it's for real.
Though the end of tonight's episode did finally cause my mom to disavow the show and any interest therein. I like to punish myself (I watched The X-Files religiously up until the last season or so, and even then I caught all key episodes and skipped MOTW episodes), so I'll probably keep watching it. Actually, it resembles The X-Files in a bunch of ways in the last year or so.
So does NightStalker, but at least that show has an excuse... it's a remake of the show that inspired The X-Files. Wasn't so hot, but didn't completely suck. "At least," Tom said, "it's better than Invasion."
Ummm... I watched last night's Lost tonight, too. Much better.
I think we've now pretty much covered all the new TV shows. My viewing schedule will probably pretty much slide back to Lost, Veronica Mars, and Gilmore Girls (which has also been sucktastic in the last year or so, but whatever). TV is bad for you.

Why can I not kick some of TPTB in the head for putting Veronica on opposite Lost?

Date: 2005-09-30 06:22 am (UTC)I expect Lost to go downhill sometime in the 3rd or 4th season provided it doesn't start earlier. Right now, I'm still amused by the actors and the dialogue and the interactions to worry about the plots making sense or anything.

Date: 2005-09-30 08:16 am (UTC)i fucking loathe felicity in reruns, alas, and i'm so disappointed with Alias... yes, be glad you don't watch it. or watch the first two or three seasons and pretend it ends there, prior to nadia being intro'd. there isn't anything really wrong with nadia, it's just that the show started to really blow around the time she came on. i think season one should start on TNT at 6PM in about three weeks or so.

Date: 2005-10-01 04:11 am (UTC)I never liked Keri Russell so I have never been able to even watch a frame of Felicity. Just couldn't wrap my brain around it cos she scares me. I might try Alias in reruns. It worked for Buffy and me so anything is possible.

Date: 2005-10-02 06:24 am (UTC)Alias in reruns would not be the same as Buffy - Buffy has very good dialogue and characterization, whereas Alias's charm is mostly in plot, structure, and a few really addictive characters (it's all about Marshall The Geeky Tech Dwarf, and Vaughn being hot, unless you don't like Michael Vartan, in which case the Vaughn factor is out the window). Alias has higher production values, too.
