... and I've tried to make it a little difficult. Or at least to rig it up so that not too many people could possibly get a LARGE chunk of these.

Of course, it is easier if you are, like me, a filthy Google cheater. So let's make it interesting. If you cheat, G-d will smite a kitten. And a baby pony. That should discourage your wicked ways.

So, name the artist and the song. If there's a popular cover of the song, name the ORIGINAL artist. If it's a traditional song, say so. Some artists may appear twice; most will never appear at all. (Mua-ha!)

#2 is not. i'll have to use that song next time, tho. and i can see where you might have gotten it confused, the imagery is similar.

Sure thing! (I used the FC lyrics too; the Steeleye Span lyrics didn't "look right" to me because I'm so used to the other version.) i tried to use lyrics that would really jog the memory of anyone who knew it - because the answer to the question posed in the lyrics is the title of the song!

you may be able to pick up the other british folk song here. it's NOT the one in middle english.

i actually had to look up the lyrics for that one. i knew i wanted to use some lyrics from it, but it occurred to me that I HAD ALMOST ALL OF THEM WRONG. So when I looked them up, the "lemur skin" line - almost unintelligible in the actual song - really stood out.

in my head it's always "and how the wind it blows, reflects the sea".

so... yeah. :) needed to look it up.

"nemesis" is on one of my car cds, and i listen to it almost every day... the production on that song is really, really good, esp given its age.

there are about 5 other tracks that could be considered goth leakage, too. i'm REALLY surprised that no oldschool netgoths have gotten the german lyrics yet. (which is kind of a hint, actually.)
