Friday morning I got up early and got out to the salon and got my haircolor fixed. It's now unnaturally light, much more than I would have preferred, but it's not as yellow as it was, and that's an improvement. You can't have it fixed twice, so next time I have it done I'm going to ask L. to go for a darker, more natural shade. It looks nice; I just prefer something more natural-looking. After my appointment I ran some errands, came home, read for a while, and got into bed with a heating pad for my sore back, at which point I fell asleep until late in the evening, when I awoke to a persistent banging on my door.

It was T., who came over to watch Svankmajer's Alice, which can best be described, sorry about the language, as "fucked up." Seriously, most of the animals in it are taxidermied or skeletons. The "Drink Me" potion is ink. Alice speaks all the parts as if she's reading the story, and every time there's a line, there's a cut to the young actress's mouth, in closeup, saying the part in caps here: "Oh, dear, I'm late!" SAID THE WHITE RABBIT. Everytime that happened early in the movie (until it got old), I would affect a German accent and say, "Whore. Nun. Whore." (You know. Like Dieter from Sprockets.) We both fell asleep near the end and as a result, T. stayed overnight on the sofa. & I am so well-behaved that, honestly, he slept on the sofa and I slept one floor upstairs in my room, and all our contact was quite innocent, and I even got permission from my mom (who is in Cleveland) for him to stay. I am so repressed. T. is pretty awesome though.

Had terrible dreams (burned with cigarettes by my dad and stepmother, being dragged through streets by bad people, etc) and then woke up at 7AM. T. and I sat around the house until around 1, then went up to the storage compartment, where I got a few boxes out (well, he got them out for me!), then to Blick to play with the happy craft supplies, and to the library. At Blick he got all kinds of necessary Professional Bald Artiste stuff, while my more modest purchase was some black scratch-paper with rainbow hologram underlay, and a few very small canvases.

My back has had me on the verge of tears all day, so just a little while ago I sent T. home, and came up to my room with my heating pad for the night. I plan to spend an hour or two in abject agony, then go to sleep for the remainder of the night. I'm currently trying to decide between A Mighty Wind and a Facts of Life reunion movie, neither of which I've seen.

for the "avatars of alice" group independent study project [yeah, a paradox, i know], a bunch of people i know had to watch that movie. they pretty much had the same consensus.

on the other hand, apparently there are a lot more fucked up film versions of alice avatars. i'm sort of glad i wasn't in that ISP.
