Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] feminist11! :D
Also, send some good thoughts in [livejournal.com profile] onelonelyhalo's general direction. She's going through some stuff.

I spent yesterday resting and sleeping a lot, or reading when I wasn't asleep. When I got up for the last time late in the evening, the stomach problem was finally gone, and hasn't come back. I did make an effort to be nice to said stomach. Sadly, since I didn't get any sleep the night before last, and was asleep all of yesterday, that means I've been up all night and have to stay up all day. I'm about to go run some errands (post office, library, annoy bf at work, etc), which I hope will take some of that time... but for the rest of it? I don't know. I guess I'll rely on espresso and computer games, the time-honored insomnia trigger of champeens.

I finished Jimmy Corrigan and read half of Quimby the Mouse, because I want to take them back to the library as soon as I can. I'm perilously close to the lending limit. I'm going to finish Quimby and Michelle Tea's Chelsea Whistle before I go today.

Also: Morrissey Gets A Job: The Coloring Book. HA!

"I hate myself and want to die. My life is meaningless." [Reads Jimmy Corrigan.] "Wow, no, HIS life is meaningless. I will live! But Corrigan should really end it all."

(that was, btw, a dramatization of a really depressed person having their life saved by Acme Novelty Library, as they realize it could be a lot lot lot worse. but it's not my personal feelings on the issue! I always loved the ads and marginalia in the comics, but as a book, with less fun weird stuff, it's almost too oppressive for me.)

incidentally, Boy's friend dropped in on Chris Ware in Chicago and says CW is friendly enough but incredibly compulsive. He even takes the booklets out of his cds and draws new covers for them.
