Sleeping all weird lately, ever since the momster kept me up all night a week and a half ago when she was leaving to go to Cleveland. I had to stay up because she needed to go to an ATM and take out some cash and bring it back to me, and she didn't want to have to turn her van off to open the door and lock it behind her! That is so never going to happen again. It's like, she can stop the van ten feet from the front door, it's not a hardship to turn it off for 30 seconds or so. I haven't had a good night's sleep since then... I just grab it where I can get it, which isn't often enough or at the right time of day (sleeping until 10PM does not qualify as a good night's sleep, no matter how many hours were involved). Last night I stayed up a little late but went to bed at a much earlier and more normal time than I have been doing... but here I am. Woke up like a shot three hours before my alarm was set to ring. I feel unpleasantly groggy, and I'm irritated, because I have a lot to do today & I have to stay up until at least 11PM on less than five hours of sleep, when the night before last I had less than four hours of sleep. (Post office, library, get dog food, get copies, etc - BAH.) I guess it's caffeine time.

Last night I was in a haze, but I went over to T's house to hang out. Got ridiculously "lost" on the way there - too many one way streets, broken traffic lights, missed turns, etc, and the dreadful fact that Ohio doesn't allow U-turns.*** I always knew where I was, but kept deviating from the correct route and having to go way out of the way to make up for it. This was all because I stopped on the way to exchange a damaged item at a store - I'd bought a book for my mom, and it turned out that a page was torn out! - and got Lost in Translation for just a few dollars on top of the value of my exchange. Also got the latest Bitch, which has an awesome cover. Then had to grab some dinner and hadn't the faintest idea where to do so between the store and T's place, which led to all my driving problems. At his apartment I ate my gross food (Burger King) & pretty much napped through the movie, which we're going to try to watch again later this week. This sleep problem is making me into an annoying girlfriend.

After I came home, I took care of [livejournal.com profile] arwen_isobel and hung out with her for a while, took a shower, played Literati with [livejournal.com profile] ragdoll and won, and stayed up to catch the second showing of the Witch Hunter Robin premiere. Now I'm going to get up and feign enthusiasm for accomplishing the day's tasks. I have a bunch of cool links for you, but I'll post them later, along with sock dog pics.

***Driving in Florida, which I did for nine years, is practically based on U-turns. You know enough not to do them on major highways, but there's lots of stuff in retail districts that you can't even get to without doing a Uie and the streets are set up accordingly, with little turn areas in the median. The fact that there IS a median is the reason for having to do a lot of Uies.
