HAPPY 2004

verbminxI'm just finishing with my infinitesimally small New Year's party, which consists of CJ asleep on my sofa, niecelet asleep on my livingroom floor in her Elmo sleeping bag (she had such a hard time falling asleep that we didn't want to try to move her), and my more-or-less absentee momster asleep in her room. Had some kind of good merlot, which is so rare, and cheese, and crackers, and a pizza. Niecelet had many cookies. Doglet had many Three Dog Bakery dog treats (her xmas present, but I didn't open them until tonight).

arwen_isobel behaved extraordinarily well tonight; she still isn't niecelet-ready, but she was out and reasonably well-behaved and mostly non-anxious around CJ. Meanwhile, Tuesday's Dog-Related Injury resulted in the entire thumb-side half of the back of my right hand being more or less badly bruised. It doesn't hurt that much in repose, or if I do stuff with my hands, but it's quite uncomfortable if it's touched. The area just at the back of the wrist is the worst spot.
Before they came over, I spent the day picking up around the house & getting myself together as per New Year's Resolutions. My room is now about 75% clean. The rest that needs doing is mostly either unpacking/storage or laundry. I'm pleased: it was starting to look very cluttered in here, but now it feels quite large again. Within a week I hope I should be able to achieve a semblance of luxury. Very much need things like the remainder of my bedding, artwork for the walls, etc. Helmut, Siddhartha Glowtauma, and Little Enid are all here, along with Domo-kun Jr, L'il Paul and Mokey the sock monkeys, Zero the ghost dog, and my Deery-Lou pillow. They make it feel more like home.
