verbminxWell, moved into the new place yesterday.
And when I say "moved in", I mean "came over to sleep on an air mattress with not enough blankets." And no plates, cups, or silverware, so I picked up some plastic stuff at Target. Turns out to be incredibly difficult to find Chinet-style paper/styrofoam plates at Target - the durable stuff that you can use for real meals. So I ended up buying disposable plastic rubbermaid bowls to eat my cereal out of. Almost all of my stuff is still in the storage compartment.
The carpet was shampooed today, and aside from that we all slept a lot. I have done and will do nothing for Halloween. Trick-or-Treat was actually last night, and I could go out to Skully's tonight, it's true, but all my costume-friendly clothes are in storage. I'm going to spend the evening finishing the cleaning of my bathroom (so that I can take a shower) and then watching the DVDs I rented from Blockbuster last night. Watched a bit of Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle last night, enough to know that it's pretty much totally inane; will finish it tonight. Dude, the CSI scene near the beginning? Drew Barrymore looks almost exactly like me in it - working my look! my hair is a lighter color though, and I'm taller. (& speaking of CSI, I had to go back to the hotel last night to watch it in the lobby! I don't think they could get a real definition of the differentiation between "plushies" and "furries" past the network censors, so they kind of lumped the Ps in with the Fs. Which is fine with me, because while the whole thing appeals to my sense of the surreal and absurd, at the same time I think it's particularly weird and don't really want to hear that many details from or about the persons involved. It's like, OK, You Weird Kids Go Enjoy Yourselves, Now, And Keep It To Yourself, Please.)
As you can see, the phone has been hooked up.
Later, I will write about last night's trip to Meijer, which was my first experience with that store, which is a strange place.
