I just finished my self-portrait for Creativity101. It's a fairly straightforward sketch of a photo that was taken of me Tuesday morning; I changed the position a little (mostly related to my mediocre draftsmanship, not intentional distortion) and I added a few little touches to make it cheery and cartoony, like drawing an exaggeratedly cartoony mouth. I really like it, except that I had some problems with the colored pencils I was using. I usually use Prismacolor at school, but don't own any, so I was using some semi-OK Prang pencils that didn't do quite what I wanted them to. The peach I used for the skin is a little too livid and the texture of the pencils wasn't up to speed, really.
Later this evening I am going to try to hook the scanner up to this computer and scan it - if not, maybe I will go out to Kinko's and have them scan it. It may even become one of my user icons! :) and it'll be fun to fool around with in Illustrator. yay! I'm so happy and excited!
