I have an ear infection. I think. That is, I have all the symptoms of what usually turns out to be an ear infection: fever, weird sinuses, congestion, sore ear "connected" to sore throat (like by a string), achiness, sleepiness.
Last night I watched Escaflowne: The Movie - feel ambivalent about it. You have a problem when your villain is a lot more attractive and charismatic than your hero, and his female sidekick is also cooler than the female protagonist. I also watched three episodes of Utena - the Black Rose saga episodes with Mitsuru and Wakaba. (The Wakaba episodes were so sad, and the Mitsuru episode... so outrageously suggestive!) I knitted a bit on my Skylark sweater and I read some of Lucky Wander Boy, which is good so far. I also read the manga Happy Mania and was really unimpressed with it... the heroine is super-pathetic and immature and obnoxious, not endearing at all, and the art isn't much to write home about.
& I did a crossword in Games magazine that wasn't too hard. I've been really working on the stuff in Games, but I think I'm going to try to focus more on knitting and Game Boy again, in my leisure/sick time. I still can't get Aragorn out of Amon Hen, and I haven't even tried Golden Sun yet (partly because I want the guidebook!)
Tonight... some episodes of Berserk or Lain, probably, and some knitting, until I fall asleep. Maybe I will watch a movie, The Big Lebowski or something. Waking up early enough to call and get a dr's appointment soon. If not, go to a walk-in clinic. Drink lots of tea and orange juice. Eat some carrot sticks or apples, maybe eat more soup.
Speaking of which, The Dude (that would be my dad) called me yesterday morning, but that's another story. He mostly just wanted to say hi and that he hadn't forgotten my birthday but he had forgotten to mail the card and it got all messed up in his jacket pocket before he had the chance to mail it. Anytime a relative calls in the morning or late at night I always think someone has died. But no, everyone is fine.

Date: 2003-06-12 01:12 am (UTC)Aragorn = still getting killed by Uruk-hais at Amon Hen. But I'm getting further each time I play! (this is in The Two Towers. I've been stuck at that damn level for months. I should find a 10 yr old boy and get him to play me out of it.)

Date: 2003-06-09 04:40 am (UTC)the soundtrack really creeps me out, though... the intense hush in some scenes, and the guy who says "present day... present time!" at the beginning of every episode. it's not the best thing to watch alone in bed in a big dark room.
