verbminxI ended up sleeping until about 10PM. I feel a little better. I'm not as mad at my mother anymore, & we haven't been fighting since she got home. She feels bad & bought me a little basket of flowers. I don't really know what to think about that, but it was a nice gesture.
I bet if I take more Midol, I'll fall asleep again. Cramps, or sleep? Cramps, or sleep? Hm. I have a hair appointment tomorrow so I need to get up at a decent time. Inconclusive. I need to get my eyebrows waxed too, but they never have appointments available at the same time that my hair is being done.
Drinking decaf coffee with lots of frothed organic milk on it, and cinnamon on that.
I got something I bought in the mail today - the Ninth Gate cards. There are ten of them, actually, and they show the scenes from the book in the movie, as well as the frontispiece. I don't know which version they show of each scene, though (if you've seen the movie, you know that there are two versions of each engraving). There is a description of each scene on the back of its card. They are a neat collectible, if nothing else; they were given out at preview screenings. I've seen people pay $40 for them but I only paid $10. I wasn't tremendously impressed by the movie, but I really liked the engravings in the book, and I like that style, esoteric old illustrations, especially engravings.
Oh, my friend D. wrote to me today. I was feeling really bad because he had written me a few times and I kept forgetting to reply. I wrote to him a few weeks ago just to say hi and that I hadn't forgotten him, and he sent me back a decent-length email today. I also got a lot of nice mail back from my mailing lists that I hadn't posted to in a while. Even if I was fighting with mom it was a pretty good day to be online.
