election day

verbminxI went out and voted today, so I take no responsibility for the number of Republicans who won in FL. most of the congressional races, and of course the gubernatorial race. Dude I didn't vote for them. oh, it turned out that I didn't get to vote in ANY of the mudslinging campaigns, as they were all for other districts.
I am happy that the public indoor smoking ban passed. No more "smoking sections" in restaurants after January. Yeehaw! I mean, this is FLORIDA, smoking outside is not a hardship, even in winter. If a bar wants to allow smoking, they can set up a tobacco counter. There is also a ban that seems to have been passed (I hope, I voted for it) - an amendment to the state constitution regarding the way pregnant pigs are penned. This amendment bans putting them in a type of pen that keeps them from turning around. That kind of greed is just gross (packing as many animals as possible into the space that's owned, regardless of how uncomfortable the animals might be), so I'm so happy the ban is passing.
My Lamb's Pride Bulky Weight yarn arrived from Patternworks today. I've been working all night on that purse for my cousin (doubled strands of "blue flannel" and "aztec turquoise" on #15 needles). I think I am not going to use the front that I made before, and will make another front instead. I might also felt the bag, so that things don't slip out of it... I don't know.
Arwen Isobel is doing very well today, dealing with her first thunderstorm since she's been with us. She's spent more time out of her crate today, as well, and so far has not had a single accident. She already knows what her ball is! But she doesn't know not to chew on our hands, feet, and clothes yet. :)
