pop star at the post office

I didn't mention that, when I was at the post office yesterday, there was a van full of kids parked next to me. I think they were all younger than ten years old and there were at least three of them. Because the van was shifting a little when I was pulling in next to it, I thought that it was about to pull out. When I got out of my car, though, I understood a little better what was going on: the oldest kid was at the wheel, pretending to drive the parked-but-running vehicle, and they were blasting and rocking out to the Smashing Pumpkins on the radio! "Cherub Rock"! It was the cutest thing... little boy thrashing around and mouthing "Whooooooo wants honnnnnney, lonnnnng as there's some monnnnnnnneeeeeeey!" - I could have imploded.
I got up at a decent time this morning - finally - after a good night's sleep. I finally dyed my roots (which, for the uninitiated, are medium ashy blonde against my otherwise light golden blonde hair, and which I wouldn't care about dyeing if they didn't look green in comparison). I'm going out to Orlando slightly later today, for some errands and shopping and perhaps to catch a movie. At the moment, though, I'm just cooking some soup... since there's very little else to eat around here. It would be simpler if I were a vegetarian - I would not have these meaty cravings. But I am not, so I do.

I'm glad you're on my side - still."
