aaaaah. So I haven't read any of Angela Spacegirl's stuff lately... we used to chatter in email now and then and I've always liked her sites a lot. It turns out she and her boy Kyle got married! In the Wee Kirk O' The Heather wedding chapel in Vegas, no less... back in January.
If I ever get married, I must elect for Vegas. Mostly to avoid having to invite the majority of my relatives, without making them feel uninvited. Um, my mom can come, maybe my aunt. I'd say that my dad could come too, but the truth is that my mom wouldn't come if my dad did.
It's nice that I have this all planned out, isn't it? Now I suppose I should consider acquiring a boyfriend... :P

and she says she got to keep her polyester bouquet!
i researched hotel weddings (bellagio, mirage, venice, paris, whatever) with autumn about a year ago when she and matt were getting married in vegas (they ended up deciding not to). that's probably what i'd go for. the cost is flexible, depending what you want, and they aren't... as tacky. i don't think i'd go for the intentionally tacky/ironic wedding, i would only choose vegas because i just don't want to deal with all the problems of inviting all of my relatives (mom's side - quasi-artistic WASP types with LOTS OF ISSUES; dad's side - less neurotic suburban hillbilly), and i think it kind of neatly sidesteps the whole issue. unquietmind and roger (whose baby was just born) had a cool wedding a few years back... or i think the wedding was private and then they threw a really cool party. i'd rather use the "getting married" money to go on a really good trip after the wedding, and just throw a party for friends once we got back.
