Yeah, definitely specific sorts of attention - from everyone, or from specific people or groups, or to elicit a certain reaction. (Some people do dress like freaks because they want to be aesthetically antagonistic...)
But, really, we wear stuff we think looks good, and looks good on us. What difference does it make if nobody's looking? (I don't think this is a bad thing at all, in case that wasn't clear.)
I was gonna say it's kinda icky that your prof has a crush on you, but then I remembered the guy who taught my sociology class freshman year and changed my mind. Damn was he...intelligent. :)
