Yesterday I saw a bat! One of my school friends (the irrepressibly morbid one) found it sitting asleep on the sidewalk, and moved it onto a nearby plant, where it clung and finished its nap. N and I went over to see it and spent some time cooing. It was about the size of my thumb, and brown and furry, almost like a little teddy bear with wings. I wanted to pick it up and hug and pet it, but I thought it would be nicer to leave it alone and let it sleep or recover or do whatever it was that the little guy was doing. I didn't even know that our school has bats. I've never seen a wild one before or gotten to see any bats up close.

Also, yesterday, I missed Natalia's birthday! happy belated bday, sweetie!
and I noticed that fauxfille deleted again, which makes me sad. i hope she's OK, whatever's going on.

That's about all. Last night and today I've been working on school stuff. Hard work, but not very interesting; just the projects I've already been talking about. I need to go get food, but I just got out of the shower, so obviously the food will have to wait. It's still hot outside. The cold snap is coming. Not soon enough.

I've always loved bats. We get them upstate. Unfortunately, if they get in the house, they're dead. :-( So I always tell them not to come into the house if they want to stay alive.

AWWWW! that is so adorable. I dont think I have seen a bat in real life...maybe one has flown past me, who knows...maybe we dont even have bats here. anyway- a small bat would be nice... a big one might be scary...
