Happy birthday to kateherself... and happy late birthday to purplecleo!

I am sitting here watching a dog show and knowing how it ends, since it's a rerun from earlier this week. In a minute I'm going to turn it off and go back to sleep for a while.

Talked to my mom last night; what's going on with my grandfather is that he's giving her his medical power of attorney and he's also signing a DNR. So if he dies this time, that's it. I guess he went to the hospital the other day because he was having "hard" chest pains and difficulty swallowing. But as far as I know, he's in stable condition and not doing too badly (considering).

I ran stupid errands last night - popped into a bookstore to check out magazines (new Art Jewelry is pretty neat, by the Bead and Button ppl but more avant-garde), spilled Chick-Fil-A BBQ sauce all over my wool/cashmere blend coat (sniffle!), went grocery shopping etc. Came home and did laundry and tried to read but was beaten up by arwen_isobel, who kept smacking me in the face with a succession of toys. It was just because she hadn't had enough attention, so I made sure to spend time with her and let her stay up slightly late to compensate. (Dogs? Kids.)

Going with T. to a social thing tonight; think I'll skip the club outing afterwards, since I doubt I'll be in the mood to spend the small hours watching goths spank each other.
