i got worms in me books
Jan. 31st, 2004 02:23 amToday: domesticity. What did I do? It involved power tools....
(curtain rod installation.)
Now my birdie curtains are hanging on a rod that looks like a branch. I am chuffed with my own decorative cleverness.
I also completely redid the area that my TV is in, which involved moving the TV from the (industrial wire) shelving unit, taking the unit apart to change shelf levels, putting it back together correctly, getting the tv, which is too heavy for me to lift on my own, back onto a higher shelf, hooking up dvd/vcr/playstation1/cablebox to tv, each other, and power sources, and hooking up my stereo. Took about an hour. Now everything is the way I've wanted it for a while. I'd put it off for too long: nothing was hooked up and the TV was too low to the ground. The stereo, however, is another problem, with blinky lights all over it that just won't quit. I'm going to have to either keep it unplugged when I'm not using it, or throw a thick towel over it.
What else did I do? Um... played out the hour of my Bookworm trial (the downloadable game), didn't have enough to make it to Grand Archivist again. Can't decide whether I will just play for free online, get the GameBoy version coming out in a month, or pay for the downloaded version. I do really love the game, but it doesn't seem to me like I need to give people money so that I can acquire even MORE ways to waste my time. At least when I do logic puzzles, or pencil puzzles from Games, I feel like my brain is getting a good workout and like I'm keeping certain faculties sharp. With Bookworm I just feel like I've gotten really good at knowing and clicking three-to-six-letter words.
