cold storage.
Jan. 19th, 2004 01:29 amReally tired. Terribly achy.
Got up this morning, almost immediately thereafter had to go to WalMart to buy a carpet runner. Dressers etc in my room tilt forward, so something has to be wedged under them. Too much money on ugly grey carpeting; at least it will be mostly hidden.
After that, drove 15 yr old around because she kept asking where actual Columbus is. Well, we live in actual Columbus, but it's a very residential area, so I drove her around near OSU (which she is considering attending) and downtown. Stopped for bubble tea on the way back. The 12 yr old was alone in the house all afternoon and mostly hanging out in my room. I let her because I have a TV and cable in here and the moms didn't want to deal with her. She only brought one pair of shoes - platform chunky things with high heels - which of course hurt her feet and cannot be worn to work in, so she couldn't do any of the house-setting-up stuff. If she wore the shoes she was complaining about her feet hurting, if not she was complaining about the cold and wanting to wear her shoes. She also had major cramps and nausea and didn't get enough sleep. So my room was happy for her because she could watch whatever she wanted, and happy for everyone else because she wasn't in the living room being cranky.
Came home to find that a bunch of boxes had been left on the back patio by the moms, who had unloaded them from the van. Watched the Colts/Patriots division championship while bringing in boxes, and smashed the middle finger of my left hand picking up the very last box. Now it's split and bruised halfway down the nail, and has a huge bandage on the end (mostly just to cushion it). It's hard to type, bec. i use that finger a lot!
After the moms came home, we three ladeez went to the basement and built two bookshelves. The first was a NIGHTMARE because of poor instructions, but the second was pretty easy.Started putting together dressers but then we all decided we were too tired. I am now watching Adult Swim and will go to sleep after Home Movies runs for the second time.
