blue on blonde

I have that blue stuff on my head... blue highlighter goo. I have heard bad things and good things, so you should keep your fingers crossed that my head doesn't turn a funny and unflattering color. (I had too many dark roots! I could not go on!)

Um, last night I went out and bought issues of Games and Games' World of Puzzles. This should keep me entertained during The Moving Process.

& I finally got a good night's sleep, went to bed happily at 11PM, actually woke up feeling rested.

Yay.

Got lots to do today. First is hopping in the shower and getting all the blue goo off my head.

OK, the blue stuff - that is, Herbal Essences highlighting kit - sucks.
It's easier to apply than the highlighting component of Colour Experte, but it still came out kind of spotty.
I suppose my next attempt to do at-home color will be a Feria hairlighting kit (another comb-style), and after that, I'll have to go back to highlighting caps. Because, seriously, my highlights are way too light (after leaving the stuff on the recommended amount of time) and the spots where they missed just look weird and I think I'm going to have to have this fixed by a pro, not sure. Ultimately the holy tint brush is still the best way to do highlights, and all these little combs and wands are just pretenders to the throne. And stuff.

Also, and this is completely my fault, a strand of hair fell in my face and some bleach got on my skin, and I wiped it away with a tissue, without thinking, and it hit my face again, but this time I didn't feel anything on my skin so I left it alone. As a result, I have a 1/4"-wide stripe bleached out of my eyebrow. It looks pretty bizarre and I had to actually resort to a brow pencil to "fix" it. (Normally I just wear some taupe powder to define my brows, but this required the Total Pencil Treatment. For a while I considered just pulling the dye solution out of the garbage and bleaching them all the way across, but that would have looked really weird when the roots start to grow in.)

Then I went to Staples and PetSmart to buy Necessary Crap - packing peanuts, a harness for my dog and a tag that says "My name is Arwen / I am moving. Please call my mommy./ [my cell #] or [my mom's cell #]/ I have an ID microchip. Also got her a reflective bandanna and special travel water bottle and treat holder. The harness is to make it difficult for her to slip her leash, and the rest of it is just in case she manages to slip her leash after all.
