Sep. 22nd, 2003 05:09 pmWoo! 2 hours of sleep! I'm flying high on the Caffeine Express!
I watched Before Sunrise earlier, which I hadn't seen since summer 1995. (Amusingly enough, I looked - not feature for feature but in overall "air" - my shape and coloring and hair and stuff - a lot like Julie Delpy's character at the time this movie came out, so that was one reason that I liked it.) Ethan Hawke isn't really very good in it, though - he sounds like he's "acting" most of the time. Plus the dialogue is occasionally slightly pretentious. Still, it's worth seeing at least once if you haven't before. I got the DVD for $5 from a bin at Wal-Mart, and I think that was a fair price for it.
Today is the day of Moving Estimates. So far, movers find the sheer quantity of books I own to be a little daunting. I hint that I could donate some of my furniture to charity, and they counter, "It'd be cheaper for you to donate some of these BOOKS." and I'm like, "Dude! I'm an art historian and historical fantasy writer! I need all this crap! The piano, the easel, the 40 boxes of books!"
Ahem. Anyway. I think later tonight I'm going to go out and get the newest issues of Games Magazine and Knitter's.
It also seems like my projected stay in Orlando for a couple of days may not be Thursday and Friday nights, as I previously thought, but like... Fri/Sat/Sun. Which is probably better, since people I want to see will probably be able to swing it better over the weekend than they could have on like Thursday or whatever. :)
Very important: I want to go to Universal sometime while I'm out there. I have two tix. I am going to call
hyper_ballad and see if she and maybe her gf can fix a day for going (she already has a pass). If she can, I hope
katesterbp can also go. (Siobhan, yer invited too, but it seems kind of far out of your way, esp since I only have one extra ticket.) If not, Kat is still invited, then
zoloft if Kat can't go, then... I dunno, maybe if nobody else can go I'll go ALONE two days in a row, or get Lou or Tim to go. (Tim is already making me go to Downtown Disney, unless I become exceptionally good at weaseling out of it.) I'm going to call around and see how this works out. I also want to have a quietish room party one night. (I have, for one thing, a heck of a lot of unshippable liquor to get rid of.)
