mighty like an icepick
Aug. 28th, 2003 02:53 amHey hey, it's Hour 48 or so of The Headache. I'm getting sick of The Headache. I just hit The Headache with plenty of medication. Maybe it'll go away for a while.
I have had an eventful day - mostly boring stuff, getting the house "ready" (it isn't anywhere near, but I'm working on it) to show to buyers starting this weekend. We have multiple listings, so basically any realtor in the area who wants to show the house can show it. It's priced a little higher than the previous estimate, but that's a bargain for the house's size and for this area, and we also expect to bargain down a little. I've been tending to minutiae having to do with "making a bathroom pretty", that sort of thing. Your eyes would glaze.
They would also glaze if I went into an explanation of how I made the mistake of eating at Steak & Shake tonight... see, the cook had just quit, and they shut down the drivethrough while I was halfway through the line and then had me sitting, waiting at the window, not telling me that they'd closed the drivethrough. We ended up going in for the food, because after waiting so long, going somewhere else was too much hassle.
I also finished watching Punch-Drunk Love, which I started last night. It wasn't what I expected (somehow I had the impression it was to be a musical?), and the story was a little thin, and I hated the score. But it has its moments, most of them having to do with pudding.
I am not tired enough to sleep, no, but since I have been bustling around for hours, I think I will take the opportunity to rest and read and drink water for a while. I read all of Fast Girls last night (it's short) and am trying to finish Lirael and Abhorsen so that I can pack them. All I should really leave out in the near future is books for
intensefragilty, though I'm almost to that point already and I actually accidentally packed - like two months ago - two books I kind of need. But I can do without them until after the move, I think.
