Hey hey, it's Hour 48 or so of The Headache. I'm getting sick of The Headache. I just hit The Headache with plenty of medication. Maybe it'll go away for a while.

I have had an eventful day - mostly boring stuff, getting the house "ready" (it isn't anywhere near, but I'm working on it) to show to buyers starting this weekend. We have multiple listings, so basically any realtor in the area who wants to show the house can show it. It's priced a little higher than the previous estimate, but that's a bargain for the house's size and for this area, and we also expect to bargain down a little. I've been tending to minutiae having to do with "making a bathroom pretty", that sort of thing. Your eyes would glaze.

They would also glaze if I went into an explanation of how I made the mistake of eating at Steak & Shake tonight... see, the cook had just quit, and they shut down the drivethrough while I was halfway through the line and then had me sitting, waiting at the window, not telling me that they'd closed the drivethrough. We ended up going in for the food, because after waiting so long, going somewhere else was too much hassle.

I also finished watching Punch-Drunk Love, which I started last night. It wasn't what I expected (somehow I had the impression it was to be a musical?), and the story was a little thin, and I hated the score. But it has its moments, most of them having to do with pudding.

I am not tired enough to sleep, no, but since I have been bustling around for hours, I think I will take the opportunity to rest and read and drink water for a while. I read all of Fast Girls last night (it's short) and am trying to finish Lirael and Abhorsen so that I can pack them. All I should really leave out in the near future is books for [livejournal.com profile] intensefragilty, though I'm almost to that point already and I actually accidentally packed - like two months ago - two books I kind of need. But I can do without them until after the move, I think.

...somehow, without noticing, I have managed to acquire what is to me a truly alarming collection of Beanie Babies and similar small cuddly toys.

The realtor isn't going to start showing the house until Monday.

This gives me time to do things like packing "valuables" (like I said, most people wouldn't recognize our "valuables" for what they are, since they're mostly collectibles and old books and such) so they don't get stolen by people during showings, and finishing the Bathroom Declutter project (my bathroom is very clean, in microbial terms, but it's cluttered with things like a zillion bottles of nailpolish, plastic organizer baskets, etc - and yes, I realize the irony of having a bathroom cluttered with organizational supplies, so let's not go there).

Last night I cleared off the top shelf of my desk, dusted all the little toys and stuffed animals and such that I've kept up there, and put most of them (and most of my other small cuddly toys from my bedroom proper) into a box, to be more carefully packed and sealed sometime in the next few days. I also did a lot of bathroom-cleaning stuff and some laundry.
