Tonight I ended up spending hours and hours on the phone with CJ, staying up too late, & then watching How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days, which was better than I expected (granted, my expectations for hollywood romantic comedies are generally LOW). It's funny in mostly a really awful cringe-inducing way. I don't mean that the movie is awful, just that the humor is mostly uncomfortable: the girl really tries to make herself into the clingy, needy, sappy girlfriend from hell.

Putting it mildly, my 3-year-old niece did not like the silver swan. She saw the link when CJ was looking at it, and said in a fearful, irritated tone, "That's YUCKY, mommy!" But she also sang an adorably tuneless version of "You Are My Sunshine" to me on the phone (I think that is the performance choice for all 3-year-old girls - it was quite a favorite with Autumn's daughter when she was that age too). So I suppose I'll have to forgive her.

I think this should have been "enthralled", "mellow", "relaxed", "tired", or "sleepy". Those are the ones I use most often. I think I've used "blah" probably about 5 times in three years, and in order to use it I have to be feeling especially icky, both physically and mentally - and NOTHING else can fit. That's when I use it!

(Actually, I looked at the 20 most recent posts. The only things to appear twice are "curious" and "mellow." "Blah" doesn't appear at all. there's "complacent, mellow, ditzy, impressed, enthralled, sleepy, dirty, blank, silly, determined, hyper, grumpy [friends only], busy, cold, nauseated.")

is blah.

I've met prosthetic legs with more get-up-and-go than you. Could you be less melancholy and go out and do something?

So I went into the storage room where we have the old Win95-running Pentium166 set up, solely so that things can be transferred off of it (it is six years old).

& I found FreeCell, in the Windows directory, and cards.dll in the system folder.

Now I have proper FreeCell properly running on this computer that, implausibly, came with no little fiddly games. (Not even Minesweeper or Solitaire!)

I downloaded a bunch of different versions from download.com, but most of them are on a 30-day trial period and then they shut down.

So, you know... if anyone needs me... I'll be busy, here.
