today's special
May. 14th, 2003 03:05 pmI went into Best Buy today to price hard drives, basically just looking for a 40gb model, for which I expected to eventually pay around $100.
I got a 120 gb model that is going to be $100 after a rebate! (Now I just have to wait for my computer to come home from the hospital. I already have the DVD-ROM drive that I got for xmas to install when it gets back, so it won't hurt to install something else too.) My mom says it's a late birthday present, but I'll probably pay her back for it if my dad sends me anything. (he usually does, unless his money situation is really bad at the time. since he didn't even send a card, i am assuming the problem is not the $ situation, but simple forgetfulness.)
The rebate thing is valid for another day or two, by the way.... it ends May 17th. They also have an OK laptop for $1K after rebate and the 10gb iPod for $200 on clearance.
Um, other than that I have been enjoying a nice day... on the hot side (80s and lower 90s) but with a breeze and not too much of a burning sun. The last few days have been all about the tank tops. Earlier today I was driving myself nuts with all the factual errors in The DaVinci Code, hence trip out of the house and dangerous foray into electronics store. Also went to Target & left with - prior to hardware purchase - a Miss Spider watering can for the garden, and a dvd of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
