(no subject)

I ended up making some jewelry tonight, which turned out fine. My pliers have run away and joined the Resistance - not fine. I haven't put the jewelry up for sale because my domain hosting is going away in less than a week and I can't afford to pay for it yet (thanks, mom). But I did make some cool things tonight & I have a bunch of bracelets to sell, all with sterling clasps and weird beads and so on. I also need to go to the bead store... tonight or this weekend or something... to get some supplies. Or order them from Fire Mountain, whatever.

I'm so tired that I'm going to bed and to sleep in a few minutes. And thirsty enough to drink twenty glasses of water, which would keep me up all night and defeat the purpose of going to bed. It feels like a school night.

One of the more recent sniper victims was from my area! Didn't know that. (And no, I don't know them, so this post does NOT qualify for littledevi's Scavenger Hunt. I won the last one - don't think I'm giving anything away to you punks. ;) I also used to drive a Chevy Caprice! It had a huuuuuuuuge trunk. It was a big scary car that I was afraid to drive. I would still think that the kickback from shooting a gun would make you bump your head, though, even in that large Starsky and Hutch trunk. I have the feeling that there are other people involved in this than the ones they've caught already.

Yesterday, while we were out, we bought a bunch of cute clothes for my niece. Seriously adorable. A little green polarfleece cap with 3 eyes and two little black horns. A pair of jeans with lots of silver stars embroidered and studded around the ankles and the pockets. A red shirt with a cute little polar bear applique. Purple kitty pajamas. (Oh dear! they aren't flame resistant?!?) I have ethical issues with Old Navy but I end up buying things there for her because it's all so cute. (I veto'd the puppy pants, though.) I want to sleep for a week... instead, I'll get a glass of water and post to minxbot.

a productive day. books! beads! brio!

I got up early today (for me), around 9AM or so. Yay! I don't think I really got that much sleep, but apparently I got whatever I needed.

I was pretty pissy this morning over on feministas - gah. so sick of admin duties there. so sick of egos & attitudes there as well. at the same time, i do like when ppl actually participate, it just bothers me when they do it with a superior attitude because damn it i am the queeeeeeeeeeen. hahaha.

today i went to the bead shop for "a few rocailles" and came out with, well, a lot of beads. Enough that with what I already have I can make the Faery Vine necklace that's in the current Beadwork. Yummy! I also finally got my "candy wrapper blue" delicas - #693 - and some pretty silver ball beads that chime when you smack them together. And some fire-polished beads. And some pliers. I went to the knitting shop and petted the yarn; pleased that they are getting better things, nowadays. And at the bookstore I picked up the new Vogue Knitting mag and also Fingersmith, which finally came out in paperback. The new Donna Tartt book is also out (which I knew about because like everyone on my friends list has bought it in the last couple of days) but I won't have it for quite some time.

I have plenty to read though between Fingersmith, Little, Big, my NaNoWriMo research books, and (ahem) my book from australia that arrived today.

Tonight I am going to watch some Sherlock Holmes thing the momster has on (HEY! I am the Holmesian around here!) - and then Orange County, and then I'm going to fall into bed.

I've made two all-new bracelets in two days, but i'm afraid you will have to linger in suspense for now. i'll post them sometime this weekend. one is green and blue, the other is rainbow and silver. I am hoping to sell them on the internet to people who will give said bracelets to other people as holiday presents or something.

i am now having bead storage issues. hm. i will have to come up with a creative solution, as I don't think I can afford to go buy more storage thingies for the time being. (Storage Thingies. you know, where you put Stuff. nonspecific places for nonspecific items.)

i got beautiful pale gold beads today with a light AB finish on them. i don't ordinarily like AB, but these are just luminous like moonlight. not sure what I will use them with, perhaps some very deep blue clear unlined beads that I have, in a lacy collar or something.
