the wrist is doing better already.
Tonight I went out to get a few things I needed, and ended up spending the majority of the evening dissuading my mom from buying a (admittedly adorable) female border collie puppy from a pet store. Yes, I know why not to get a pet store puppy. On top of that, there is just no way that a border collie would be a good dog for us. Hi, we have two middle-aged cats, one of whom has a heart condition.
Border collies aren't good dogs to get if you have other pets. They're nice dogs, and very smart dogs, but der katzen do not want/need to be herded, and we really need something smaller. It's looking like a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (the favorite), or secondarily a well-bred pug or shih-tzu. Italian greyhounds are also being considered, but my mom doesn't really like them. I talked her into just starting slow... making sure that we have dog SUPPLIES and not making an impulsive purchase of the actual animal. Getting a space ready for a doggie. Etc. (I know there are a lot of great shelter dogs, too, and we may go that route, but in the past we haven't had the best luck with shelter dogs.)
Anyway, I have been doing most of the driving lately because Someone's arm is in a sling. I can handle it. Rides seem much shorter when I'm driving than when I'm a passenger. I also have a lot of laundry to do, because I foolishly offered to do Someone's laundry.
Eye appointment tomorrow - should be interesting. I've wanted new glasses for so long. Hope they don't have to dilate my pupils, because that is ouchy.
( it's been a few days, hasn't it? )
