well, I did NOT finish everything... I could just cry. Really really. But I did OK, got a B with the missing components. I'm going to finish them anyway during break. My class grade should be all right. I got a frantic call from La Profesera after class regarding things she didn't have grades for in her book, but I was supposed to call her back by three hours ago, and I didn't get the message until ten minutes ago, so oops. All errors can be corrected in January.
So after my 5 hours of sleep and with a sore throat (me), the momster dragged me to her car appointment where she got involved in some lengthy nonsense about using her car as a trade-in, which she cannot do because she just doesn't have enough money to do payments. Then we stopped at Marshall's, which was actually my idea. My old best friend's mom used to manage this particular store, and after she left, I had an altercation with a clerk that resulted in me refusing to set foot in the store for... it's been about six years, I think. (basically, the clerk had put stuff on hold for other people but wouldn't hold anything for me. even for an evening. I was irritated and thought she was unprofessionallly bitchy. I was a manager in a store down the plaza. By the end of the week nobody in my store shopped in her store anymore.) So anyway, it had been a long time.
Ross has more selection, but I guess Marshall's now runs slightly more upscale (it used to be a trash pit from hell with pee-scented dressing rooms covered with wads of chewing gum). I got a really nice mesh shirt with an art deco girl pattern on it, a pair of Esprit capris with a cute print, and a long deconstructed denim skirt. My mom found yet another Chantal kettle (she's already killed one, then ordered another from Wms-Sonoma, decided she didn't like the color, and returned it)... quite cheap. If this one gets burnt up she will never spend more than $20 on a teakettle ever again. I nagged her into oblivion to get her to buy a freaking sweater, already, when she found a nice chenille model. Hard work. (The stuff I put back was... kind of painful. Shallow of me. But there were those glittery hipster cords with wee gemstones on the two waist buttons, and the nice blue pashmina... pashminae are out, I know, but they make awfully nice and majestic scarfy-things nonetheless.)
After that I would have liked to have gone home, but it was not to be!
Got dragged a few more places, and then I got to go home. I'm really really tired now... it's been another 18 hour day.
I should write about our last day in design class in more detail, but I'm just too freaking tired. Meh. Oh well...
time for bed.
