tonight i got a letter from C.

please at least take a moment to read this before deleting it...

first off, i owe you a very very very belated and absolutely enormous
apology for taking off unannounced and never telling you what was going on,
where i was going etc etc.

secondly i owe you some sort of explaination... it was nothing personal,
just something i needed to do to get the "unmentionable person" out of my
life.

i made an agreement with my parents that if they helped me move and gave zoe
and i a place to stay, i would break off all contact with my friends etc in
florida for a year.

my parents felt that this might keep me from changing my mind and moving
back to florida, something they felt i was likely to do given my
indecisiveness about moving in the first place.

its been a year now and i wish i had told you what was going on at the time,
it was horribly unfair of me not to tell you considering all that you had
done to help me out.

i wish that we could be friends again but that is entirely up to you.

i miss you and think about you often,

love, c.

this comes from thiefcatcher72...

What ten things make you happy? (it cannot be a living thing, like a pet or a person...)

In no particular order:

1. bouncy synthpop songs and dancing to them
2. seeing new places, breathing new air
3. sanrio stuff, especially hello kitty and chococat
4. good books, including comic books
5. looking good (put-together, or interesting, or cute... any of those.)
6. all the things i can do with my computer
7. certain outdoor milieux
8. good art museums (cleveland, nyc met, etc)
9. cartoons (esp good anime & powerpuff girls)
10. MOKEY! (and friends)

also, tea, icecream, tea icecream, coffee icecream, fruit, these special german gingerbread cookies that i get, chocolate, things with cherries on them, accomplishing things, cute things, jones fufuberry soda, cake, cookies, various fictional characters, messing with my hair, ironing out the kinks in a bit of writing (which i suppose comes under accomplishments), getting surprise gifts, etc etc etc...

i'm really not that difficult to please.

The New Criterion Online has this ESSAY by Joseph Epstein on diaries and diarists.

What is your diary for? Are you writing for yourself or an audience? What audience? What do you prefer to write about?

I'm curious. But you should read the essay first.
