Went out tonight, but didn't do anything exciting. Bought some cheap classics ($5 each) at Evil Chain Bookstore and went to Kinko's (which in a better world would be an adult superstore). Went to the new diner, where the service is just as bad as it used to be when the other company was in charge, but at least the food has improved.

Tonight I get to set up a journal (not on LJ) for my mom... making graphics, etc. It's going to be all starry, as that is what she wants.

I'm in an odd mood today. I need to get some packages ready to be sent to people. I need to read and knit. I need to effect a whirlwind transformation. I never know where to start. The only way to figure out which of a long list of things to do first is to dive in.

I have gotten a lot of amusement out of the following site over the past few nights. I've made it through the Art Frahm section (a study of the effects of celery on underwear elastic), the Wisconsin Motel section (must be seen to be believed... not even as charming as the jawdroppingly odd Madonna Inn, though decorated with about the same amount of taste), and most impressively "Interior Desecrators", dedicated to parodying the interior design self-help books of the 1970s. Yow, there's some ugly crap in them thar hills! I have yet to make it to the "Gallery of Regrettable Food" or any of the site's other fine features. But it's definitely worth a look: I've been laughing so hard that my throat hurts.

Yeah, you heard me, go now! Be exposed to the darker side of retro! Remember all those episodes of Three's Company you tried to forget! Kill the 70s revival NOW!
