I meant in my last entry that it was a nice surprise that mononoke and the professional were on that top films list.

My fever and I slept a lot today, but now that I am awake, I seem to be feeling better. Hungry. I don't know how I'm going to manage to see SARK tomorrow night... we'll see. If I make it, cool, if not, no big deal.

& my birthday is in 36 hours. *trauma*. I finally got my mother to stop ragging on my age. I had to explain that I feel like I'm getting my Loser Card on my 25th birthday and that I have a lot of goals I have to accomplish in the next six months to avoid that fate. But it's very hard to explain to someone who hasn't been in my shoes & had certain things in their life to affect them. So, it took most of Saturday evening to get her to stop teasing me.

Other than that, I read most of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay last night (which is pretty good, & revolves around various fixations I've had in my life, such as comic books, Houdini, etc), struggled through an especially slow and pedantic section of TMM (the one titled "Research", wherein our intrepid hero starts pondering the nature of life in scientific terms), and found some yarns I wanted to order for a project (a big, squooshy mohair sweater that takes six strands to knit, & must therefore be knitted with a lot of attention paid to costs, because it could easily run to $200 if made with the "wrong" yarns). If I had known that knitting was going to be such an expensive hobby, I doubt I'd have adopted it.

Well, I am going to go try to use my waking hours to accomplish something or other rather than sitting around online or lying around reading (though I am on AIM tonight, if anyone is curious).
I took a shower, wrote letters to J-girl and L (both of whom I have been neglecting a bit), and am about to eat... something. Soup, or an egg sandwich. I'm very hungry and there aren't many possibilities.

We haven't had money in the account in a week, which is partly due to my mother neglecting to put it there, and then also partly due to the bank taking forever-and-a-day to process it once it was deposited. She spent like 1/2hr on the phone with the bank, who have charged something like $150 in returned check fees even though the money has been deposited and she's supposed to have overdraft protection. She's changing banks. I might too, since my formerly $4/month account is now $6/month, and I barely use it.

I went to get the sheets I soaked all night out of the dryer, and indeed, the B-cat-poo stains are gone. However, they have been replaced with rust stains from the safety pins I used to mark their locations. I am very unhappy with this turn of events, and have been wandering in every 20 minutes or so to apply fresh bits of lemon-juice-and-salt paste to the stains. If that doesn't work, I have to make a cream of tartar solution and boil the damn stains, which just seems like too much work. These sheet sets are about a month old, and they just seem doomed. B-cat keeps getting poo-sick in his usual way on the blue ones, and my mom keeps spilling stuff (nailpolish, etc) on the green ones.

Doomed, I tell you.
