Apr. 2nd, 2001

I haven't had much luck logging in during the past few days... and this is just going to be a short entry.

Wednesday night, Cousin S left for New Orleans. Autumn was watching over the Girl, who was sick, and feeling under the weather.

Thursday we went out seperately, planning to meet after A's drawing class. I went to the yarn shop and spent about $75 on yarn (that's enough for 3 scarves if you're using good yarn, you know). I got a soft chartreuse fuzzy yarn and a deep silky mulberry fuzzy yarn and a variegated wool in a lot of different shades. I also did a real trip to H&M and got a camisole and undies with the Pink Panther on them, a pale blue Snoopy slip-nightgown, a pale blue art nouveau horoscope tanktop, some accessory stuff. Got a shiny black denim miniskirt and a gorgeous black trench that I have to take back because they're too small (the lines for the dressing room are longer than the lines for the cashier, so it's a lot easier to estimate size and return things than attempt to try them on in the store).

After that I hopped a bus down to the Village, and found my way to Parsons (where A's drawing class is) and called her from a pay phone. Her class had been cancelled, so I met her and her friend C at Telephone on 2nd Ave (where I had a blah sandwich and we gabbed for a few hours).

We split up again after leaving, and I went to the Urban Outfitters about a block away to look for some more "Less Anger, More Smile" glasses... my mom wanted them for a relative. I looked all over the store and couldn't find them or anything else I had to have. However, on the way out, I slipped on the 4-or-5 concrete stairs right in the entrance, and landed on my ankle. The store staff didn't even notice, blah on them. A woman passing, 40ish and in blue, saw me fall and came inside and sat with me for a few minutes until I was sure I could walk on it. The next morning, M ran out and bought me an Ace Bandage and I spent some time sitting on the sofa with my foot on a stack of pillows. Knitting. I taught A how to knit on Thursday night.

Friday and Saturday A. was pretty sick and I was pretty immobile, leading M to label us Sicky and Gimpy. The Girl completed the picture as Whiny. We were quite a sad little trio. By Sunday my ankle was feeling on the mend and now it just feels bruised & isn't so hard to walk on.

Watched X-Files... my immediate reaction was "Can't that fucking bitch Mulder stay dead for more than one episode?" har, har. Also watched the remains of the first season of Revolutionary Girl Utena, which is amazing but which seems to have an icky ending. There is a good Utena site HERE. I'm so addicted.

When I fell, after I got back to the house, I called my mom, who yelled at me for not going to the emergency room or filing an accident report ("But mom, I can walk on it! Can't you just say Oh, honey, you poor thing! I hope you feel better soon! ?") Then the next time I talked to her, Friday night, she was mad because of how much it cost to change my return flight to 4/10. Then she called me back and apologized, so it's all good.

Yes, that's right, I'm going to be here for another week or so. The fun doesn't end! ;)
(A and M are concerned that I'm not having fun, but really, I'm just fine. It's nice to be away from home.) Hopefully I will be able to see Ragdoll this week, and Banshee too.

In a month I'll be 25. *shudder*
