D-cat died in the hospital last night.
He didn't die of the kidney failure, but without doing an autopsy they can't be sure, and we don't want them to do it... it won't change that he didn't make it. There were many signs on his tests that he might have had cancer, but they didn't want to try to fully diagnose or treat it until his kidneys were stabilized.
I am sad that he is gone... he was a big squishy lovey monster kitty with the prettiest eyes in the world... but at the same time, happy that we did not have to have him euthanized and that he went on his own when he was ready.
