I'm ready to go! I'm ready to go!
Theoretically going to the movies, but I'm very tired and don't know that I want to sit through anything. Maybe we'll just grab dinner and come home. I've been ready to do something for hours, wearing a cute shirt and skirt, hair in pigtails, etc. *yawn*
I went out earlier; drove around for a while enjoying the nice weather (hot, but with some motion in the air), and then went to the main branch of the public library. Sat for a while looking at books I certainly would never buy, though I did find a book of old needlework projects (mostly crochet, knitting, crewel, etc) from Godey's Lady's Book, which was interesting. Lots of things like circular fans that collapse into their own handles, and baby layette stuff, and small handbags. All of it seemed so unnecessarily complicated. I used to itch to be a Victorian, when I was younger; now I don't think I'd venture into the Wayback Machine for all the tea in China. (Well, maybe if it was really good jasmine tea.)

Date: 2001-06-30 02:02 pm (UTC)mayhaps, the medieval time. the way the modern world perceives it. not the reality (ie. potchambers, diseases, low-life expectancy, etc).
more than likely, i would have chosen that wild and uninhibited time right before the crash of 1920 (time?). oh, to be a flapper. the kewpie doll of a rich playboy. :D
