I am so very NOT happy to be awake...

woke up after maybe 5 hours of sleep with my dear little N-cat glued to the backs of my knees. He is silkysoft in terms of fur, but a hard little knot of hot muscle when taken as a mass, and had pushed me half out of bed with his determined snuggling in the curve of my legs.

I am normally a bit chilled at night, but I awoke hot and thirsty. We shuffled around, I asserted myself and regained some space, and then he did the ultimate annoying Feline Bedfellow Thing To Do... he started cleaning himself. While pushing tight against me. Which resulted in my legs being shaken rhythmically back-and-forth. Kinda like being shaken awake. No, wait... EXACTLY like being shaken awake!

It was probably an hour or so before I gave up and turned on the light, read for a while, and eventually transferred to the chair to go online. N-cat was ruffled and let himself into my mother's room, where he is now curled in the curve of her sleeping legs. He's not nocturnal. He'll sleep with whoever goes to bed the earliest after sunset, and be entirely inactive til dawn. Weirdo.

Take two! ;-)

Silly Mr. N-cat! I was always amazed at how cats can be bed hogs. My ex's furface, Nico (who wasn't particularly large), would somehow manage to take up 3/4 of an empty full-size futon without even trying. Many is the morning I'd wake up sometime after M. left for work finding myself jammed into a small corner of the bed because Mr. Fuzzyface had managed to position himself just so.
