Hoo, boy, is it hot outside. I don't know the exact temp, but it feels perilously close to 98.6. This is not entirely comfortable for me, especially considering that I run a constant low-grade fever. So I'm wearing my cute H&M tanktop with the art nouveau zodiac girls on it, and a long silk wrap skirt that almost kind of matches, and platform sandals that assuredly do not. My sciatica is acting up and my right leg is hard to walk on... I can take mincing steps, but a long stride makes it too weak to support me. My back isn't hurting, it's just a twinge in the upper front thigh. Stupid pinched nerves! Stupid illness! From now on, body, I want you to behave exactly as I tell you to. Capisce?

I finished organizing my fonts this morning (computer housekeeping, such fun, *snort*) and I did some picking up around the house and read for a while. Eventually went to several Evil Fast Food Restaurants looking for HelloKitty toys, but they were gone everywhere. I wanted a Chococat zipper pull! Oh well.

Then went to the gourmet market and picked up two big containers of frozen soup - not the kinds I wanted, but good enough (cream of veggie, and french onion - I'd wanted Veggie Beef Barley and Corn Chowder). Also got the "unsweetened" cookies, some of the best jasmine tea ever, and a pound of "tropical chicken salad", which has mango and grapes in some kind of curry sauce. I will have a happy stomach this week.

This annoying nouveau-riche yuppie guy was standing at the register, blocking it, and yapping about his condo in Utah... after we left I turned to my mom and said "What a TURD we were next to in line!" (odd - I don't normally use the word "turd"). She replied, "Yeah, that's the owner." Yuck! At least the food is good....

Also, the zines I ordered from PANDER came in today, with the usual cute note from Ericka on particularly cute paper. I'm so stoked... the new issue of A Girl and Her Bike, which is a favorite and has a particularly cool screen-printed cover this time around, and a bunch of others that don't look like they will disappoint at all. I only order zines a couple of times each year and it's been months since the last batch, so I'm all bouncy and excited. "Go away, I'm reading zines!"

oh, yeah, the desk chair came, too. but it needs to be assembled.

***could i possibly have used the word "particularly" more in this entry? strunk, white, et al. are rolling in their graves...

maybe your body temperature is just higher than other peoples? everyone has a different one. I have noticed that mine is low. like a degree lower than "normal". but then again, most peoples temps are lower than 98.6

When I'm well, I hover between 98.4 and 98.8. My doc says this is a CFIDS-related thing and pretty common. I usually run a temp of around 100... sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Rarely higher than 100.5 unless I have some other illness (flu etc).
