I made delicious egg salad sandwiches, with marjoram and celery seed and parsley-butter, and am drinking iced (herbal) tea.
not sure whether the egg salad is strictly allowed, but hey, i'm just starting out, i haven't even started taking the medication that goes with the diet. i'm ok. I'll have some regular salad later. I have a rice-crust "tostada" pizza with soy cheese, and a few frozen vegetarian enchiladas; somehow mexican food seems to gel best with my restricted diet, though there is also some asian food I can eat, Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma... yum.
I think I'm going to read tonight... or else work on a web project; I've been spending too much unproductive time online lately.

Date: 2001-05-11 10:43 pm (UTC)I personally think the secret to the recipe's tastiness is the herbed butter... 1/4c.butter or spread, and 2Tbsp. dried mint or dried parsley.
as far as the rest, my diet is kind of out of the way right now because there are so many things i am not allowed to eat - any sugar (incl fruit), honey, sweeteners, wheat, yeast, cheese, vinegar, alcohol, etc. like yogurt would be good for me, except that the only yogurt i can stand is sweetened and flavored. etc. (i might cheat later - after a few days - and eat some vanilla yogurt, because that won't be as sweet as a fruity kind, and i think its probiotic benefits would outweigh the small amount of sugar.)
