Who's your daddy?

George Foreman is your daddy! (and if so, for real, your name is probably George Foreman too...)
Just got done trying out the grill for the first time, on some chicken breasts. I marinated them in a Triple-Raspberry Chipotle BBQ sauce that I picked up at Williams-Sonoma some time ago (probably on my first visit to the store, so it's been sitting on the shelf for like a year in its happy little jar). I made one big mistake - the sauce caramelizes a lot faster than the chicken cooks. So any extra sauce needs to be brushed on in the last two minutes or so.
The chicken was fantastic, and the sauce was still quite good, albeit, um, well-done. Had Italian green beans and a baked potato with butter as side dishes. Simple and yummy. I feel accomplished.
We bought the $25 grill but really it's a bit small for doing two chicken breasts at once, so I cooked one at a time. Next time I might cut them into pieces so that they can be arranged to use the whole grill.
Aside from that, I've spent the whole day mostly trying to stay awake so that I don't throw my sleep schedule too far off kilter again, and looking for reasonably-priced t-shirts and tanks in styles I like in various online shops (unsuccessfully). Did find two sweaters I like, but dunno if I want to spend the $$ on them, especially with the end of sweater season so close at hand.

Date: 2001-03-10 06:35 pm (UTC)i love mine. chicken and fish both turn out really well, as do steaks. like you were saying, i cut my chicken breasts into pieces, strips usually, so that i can fit more in there. i wind up cutting steak that way as well.
have fun with it.
