For some inexplicable reason, my ankle is hurting so much today that it burns. Both ankles have been bothering me for about a month, since the evening when I knelt on my basement floor for four hours putting together furniture with T's help. When we were shopping on Sunday I kept trying to kneel down on the floor and being unable to sit on my haunches, having to sit in that highly uncomfortable "kneeling to the side" position. I'd done some gentle stretches before we left. What hurts is to fully extend my foot as if to go en pointe, and then apply pressure to the top of my foot. But now this has translated to a general burning pain in my foot. I think I'm going to have to wrap the ankle with an elastic bandage when I'm home and try to limit trips up and down the stairs.

Today was just... blah. The momster took my poor broken car into the dealership today to get it repaired, and it turns out that they have to order the part (a new side mirror) and it'll take several days and is costing hundreds of dollars and I'm bummed but not nearly as bummed as I would be if the damage had been my fault. We went out, had a nice dinner, did a little shopping. She found jeans, finally (her old ones were ugly and had a hole in the rear!) and I got a Goonies t-shirt. I found out that Target is selling Yum Pop camisoles and underwear! I got a load of research books at Half Price Books. The weather was pretty nice today, unseasonably warm, in the 50s. But I was just tired and achy and down for a lot of the time I was out and it was hard to enjoy much. I guess what I enjoy most is finding $5ish new copies of books that ought to have been $40+. Aside from the research stuff and some craft stuff, I got one of the few books of zine excerpts that I didn't have, and also one of the volumes of The Best American Non-Required Reading.

My grandfather got out of the hospital today. He has a new doctor who has changed his medication (I don't know if it's the substances or the dosages that were changed, but they are meds for the effects of Parkinson's Disease). He has been almost unable to communicate at all lately, but since his medication change, he is doing wonderfully and can talk all the time and is being really sweet and cheerful. This is all really nice.

Now I'm going to take some tylenol and naproxen sodium and hope that they help my legs to stop hurting, since I'm really sleepy and I don't want to wake up in the middle of the night from pain!
