It was mostly short hand to verbminx who has known me for years and years and pretty much knows the score. She also knows that I tend to deal with tense situations with laughter (as I think she does too) because it's better than losing your mind over things. It's not that I am laughing at anyone mentally ill -- it's just the whole surreal quality of the situation. It's never while I'm in it - it's just looking back on things that are so bizarre that either you have to laugh or cry. I tend to laugh because I have a very sick sense of humour. It was not anything to do with what you said, btw. Just the incidents that poor V. had to deal with.
