verbminxI am in excruciating pain. Spent all day napping in bed, but it didn't help me much. I'm not sure when this started, but my grocery expedition last night was apparently the final straw. I'm doing good things for it and I might have a long massage this (Thursday) evening. At the moment I cannot take a step without wanting to cry.
Ann suggested the I review the new conditioner I'm trying, so here goes. It's the new Garnier Fructis deep conditioner; it comes in a little 5 oz tub. It smells good, has a nice texture, and so far, my hair feels good. I normally use Feria Professional deep conditioner (from Sally Beauty Supply), which comes in a 6 oz tube for around $7 or so. While in the shower - my shower is big, more like a little tiled room, no bathtub in sight, has its own light in the ceiling, etc - I compared the two bottles. Every ingredient from the Feria conditioner is in the Garnier conditioner, but the Garnier has some ingredients not in the Feria: mostly fruit extracts and such. I might have more to add in a couple of days, if my hair starts to feel really dry and frail, or if I go to blowdry it and the conditioning doesn't stand up to the process. At the moment, though, I think the Garnier stuff is a good substitute for the Feria. It's also more widely available, and cheaper. The only thing I don't like is the wide-mouthed screw-top jar/tub packaging - it's messy, because it requires two hands to close, when one of those hands already has a blob of conditioner in it, and it's not like you can just turn the jar upside-down to keep it from spilling, the way you would a tube, or simply set it down, like you can a top-opening bottle (whose opening is smaller). I think it might also encourage me to use more of the conditioner than I would use of the squeeze-tube Feria, so it might not be cheaper after all.
OTOH, Dannon La Crème yogurt gets a definite thumbs up. Raspberry flavor, so far.
An aside - my dog just loves Anonymous 4. I have maybe 5 or 6 of their cds, most of which I've never played (um, BMG Classical Music Club introductory order comprised almost entirely of that kind of music). Popping in a CD by A4 is practically the only way to get her to calm down when she's overexcited (IE, barking at 3AM, or playing her "nose flute" whine for attention). She will calm down, stare into space, listen intently, or chew methodically on a toy. It's really amazing. They should sell this stuff in pet stores.
