also, since i did not have a great day, i would like to share one bit of consumption-fueled joy...
i was at an out-of-town bookstore that i don't normally visit, and they had a lot of things for 75% off. so I got:
- hardcover copy of Wm Gibson's All Tomorrow's Parties
- Vogue desk calendar - vintage images in a cd-case holder
- large pretty Goodnight Moon picture frame for Z.
for a grand total of $5.95, including tax!
I was particularly glad about the Gibson book, since I've been wanting to read it, and actually bought it last month and then almost immediately returned it because I was unsure about the expense and had a lot of other things to read before I'd have the chance to get to it. But a hardcover for under $2? I'm so there.
My mom also bought me a few small things, basically because she felt guilty about the aforementioned Edina-and-Saffron episode earlier today. I got a book that
ayun mentioned last week called Cute, Quaint, Hungry, and Romantic which looks pretty good. Also one of the geektastic LOTR bookmarks that has the little ring attached to the tassel... I wanted Galadriel, but they didn't have her, so I got Arwen instead, which is cool. Geektastic. Geektastic!
I am very tired now. thud thud ZONK.
