do you have an opinion?
Nov. 20th, 2005 05:40 amI am too tired and lazy to set this up as a poll.
The other day, it was decided that I need a new purse, because the gold sequin sack I've been carrying since the beginning of the summer is now not only awful, but also decrepit. Everyone wants me to stop using it. SO. Tom owed my mom some money and she had him pick me up a purse at Target instead. I don't buy cheap purses if I can help it, but they have a line I'm kind of into right now, and I can't afford anything but cheap.
THIS is the bag I got. It has a lot of good pockets inside (2 compartments separated by a zip pocket divider; a side-wall zip pocket; an outside open pocket). It would be an awesome and easy way for me to carry my mini-Moleskine, pouch of pens, iPod and accessories, and so forth. The trouble is, I didn't realize until I got it home that it is really pretty huge, way too big for me to carry on a daily basis, and kind of old-lady-looking.
SO, I am considering two others from the same line:
Option #1 - This is the one I almost chose. It actually holds an amount similar to what the first purse holds, but distributed differently. I think it is more stylish. However, it does not have any real pockets inside, and I don't think I could cram a book into it... maybe a magazine if I folded it carefully.
Option #2 - This is also too big to make a good purse, but unlike the other two bags, it would make a good Work Tote - big enough to hold a notebook, foods, etc. If I chose this I would have to pull out one of my old purses to use. I am thinking of buying this anyway, after the next time I have a paycheck, to match whichever purse I wind up with.
-----------------
Wild Card - I don't remember what this is like inside: I think it has a side zip pocket. I didn't get it because I thought it might be slightly too small and because that strap over the top has to be unsnapped before you unzip the bag... every single time. There is a small decorative pocket under the snap on the outside, which is otherwise open at the top (like all the exterior pockets on these bags).
Tom also liked this one, but I wasn't into it because suede is so difficult to care for and I was worried that the color might rub off on my clothes. I also don't like the studs on the straps.
Since I've been home for a while winding down from a really long day and night, I've had on IFC, and I think it was Glam Night: Velvet Goldmine followed by Hedwig.....
