Aug. 17th, 2005 09:47 pmSaw my aunt off this morning.
No further loss of furniture occurred.
(and I want to make clear, this wasn't her fault, it was my mom's - she has "too much stuff" but always chooses exactly the wrong things to try to get rid of. instead of old clothes, books, videos, her bad 70s vinyl record collection, etc, she reliably chooses things like "furniture we're using" or gives away things she doesn't want to give away just because someone said they liked it.)
My aunt did leave with a bunch of stuff from her childhood that my mom had rescued for her from my grandparents' house before it was sold: some of her baby clothes, dolls, etc. And it is a relief to not have that cluttering my living room anymore.
My poor dog also started eating again. While guests were here - and this especially started when my uncle was here on Sunday - she started guarding her food instead of eating it, and only eating when everyone was in bed. When I gave her dinner tonight, she had a completely full bowl (usually it's never more than half, so that means she didn't eat more than a few bites of breakfast). She ate about half of what was there. I think that means she basically ate the normal amount she'd eat for dinner, which means she's normalizing. We weren't that concerned about her: she didn't have any other symptoms of illness, and she's done this before under stress, after car trips and when we moved and etc.
