now i've gone and done it...
Feb. 17th, 2005 09:49 amThis morning, both my mom AND my boyfriend came down with what I have.
Both are stubbornly claiming it's something else. Boyfriend, for example, said, "It's just this thing I get, a few times a year, whenever there's a weather change. It's because of the cold snap." (We are not having a cold snap. It's February, and right now it's around 28 deg F. This is reasonable. For the last day or so, I'm told - I haven't been outside - it's been unseasonably warm. So this is actually the end of the hot flash. I understand that he's referring to the weather change. I just disagree.)
I find all this kind of funny, because hi, they've both come down with something at the exact same time and just a few days after I did, and with more or less similar symptoms. It's CLEARLY pathogenic. Is this how whole villages used to come down with horrible epidemics? Everyone would drink out of the same cup at the village fountain, but for years nobody would ever notice/admit/etc that the illnesses could be passed that way. They had the excuse of not understanding germs and disease transmission very well. My mom and Tom do not.
Still, I hope they're prepared and not as miserable as I have been the last few days; I hope they have milder symptoms and get over it faster.
On another "note" (groan): The Queen of the Night's "Rage of Hell" aria is NOT appropriate for a macaroni-and-cheese commercial.
