"i will be with you again..."
Jan. 1st, 2005 09:18 pm(anyone who gets that title probably listens to either A)commercial "alternative" radio or B) 80s music or C) special edition iPods too much. but I love that song, and it is appropriate today!)
Today is
katesterbp's birthday! She is super-special (someone I actually know IRL and miss), so go love her up.
Yesterday was fun... I'm still feeling kind of sick (worse today than yesterday). T & I went to the movies to see The Incredibles. It's cute and funny, worth seeing, but a little predictable (due in no small part to heavy-handed foreshadowing). The animation is wonderful - I was especially impressed with the handling of characters' hair.
Afterwards, we went over T's friend's A's house for the New Year's Eve festivities. A's wife L is a big Duran Duran fan, so we had to see them on the Carson Daly special. (L and I were like, "All right! Duran Duran!" while the guys were like, "We love them, so we will tolerate this.") Basically we just snacked and chatted and watched TV with the hosts and another couple who stopped by. It was pleasant. We left around 1AM, came back here, and crashed. (Well, Tom crashed. I read for a while - Kings of Infinite Space by James Hynes, which is good, but I probably won't finish it 'cause it's kinda creeping me out.)
Today we went out to pick up 50% off calendars and DiGiorno pizzas at a discount almost as good. Now we are about to watch Elf, so that I will no longer be the last non-homeless person in America who hasn't seen it. (And I'm pretty sure some of the homeless have managed it by now, too.)
