orange alert!
Jan. 17th, 2004 12:22 amMan, my PMS Alert meter has increased to CAUTION -
and my aunt and two younger cousins are coming tomorrow night to stay until Sunday night.
and the 12-yr-old is going through a really annoying "attitude" phase. which she takes out on me. apparently because we each hate the other's favorite movie.
and they're not here to visit... they're here to help out with the remaining tasks involved in "getting the house set up."
keep your fingers crossed for my temper. I'm already extremely irritable. fortunately i get along really well with the older of the two kids coming (there is a third sister, 17, who can't come because she has to work), and hopefully she'll be predominantly helping me.
I went to the library today and got a bunch of stuff. A really weird 1970s classical song cycle on cd. the cd comp This is Tech Pop. New Sharon Kay Penman mystery, newest Peter Carey book based on the Ern Malley (an invented Australian poet of the 1940s) affair, Joey Pants' memoir, a book called Collage for the Soul that has some interesting ideas, Topsy Turvy on DVD because I've been in the mood to see it again, and a bunch of knitting books. Predominantly out-of-print Alice Starmore. I now know why copies of Aran Knitting are constantly fetching crazy prices on ebay: it's a wonderful book and has at least ten things in it that I'd like to make.
