I am having a "someone put rocks in my stomach!" day. Meh. No actual rocks, it just feels like it. Distended. I slept badly last night because of it. & the flu shot is also hitting me pretty hard today; i'm tired and achy.
Today was my allmighty hair appointment. It looks great, both highlighted and lowlighted to get rid of more of the platinum blondeness... much more natural and modern. Kept the basic shape but took an inch or so off and chipped into it for more texture. Had fun chatting it up with Lorra. She had a few good job leads for me & also gave me her voicemail number so that we can make plans to do something more social. Lorra is the pixie pixie: still with the short spikey red-red hair. She must be all of five feet tall and a hundred pounds, in her early thirties now, but also ageless in her way. It's nice to reconnect with people; I hadn't seen her in three years, and at the time I didn't think I'd probably ever see her again.
After that I went to Blick Arts to drool on the printmaking supplies. Yes. YES. I want a job there sooooo bad. I'm going to call during the week and ask for the store manager and see if they need people. There are other places I'm going to apply, but wow, I really like that place. It just opened recently. If no job, then probably PRINT GOCCO! PRINT GOCCO! they have a couple of shelves of supplies! it's japanese!
After that, had to go pick my mom up from WalMart, where she'd let Spanky leave her after he found out that his Cincinnati girlfriend got off work early. (He doesn't have another girlfriend, but he lives in Louisville KY right now, and she lives in Cincinnati, and he drives to see her every weekend.) We're all supposed to go to a dog show tomorrow, but it looks like the momster and I might both need to take the day off and rest. Anyway, I got stuck at WalMart for like an hour and a half, and I hadn't eaten all day, and finally I cheerfully said to my mom, "OK, in five minutes I'm leaving, with or without you!" And amazingly, given her mood lately (depressed, irritable, etc), she got it for the joke it was (my way of saying that I really, really needed to leave), and cheerfully finished her shopping. We both hate WalMart.
Now we're home, hanging out with
arwen_isobel and about to watch a movie, and things are decent, and there will be hot cider and knitting, and everyone will be in bed before midnight or so, and we were forced to eat Sir Robin's minstrel....

This is so awesome.
Any sugar daddies in waiting out there?
Eh, if I want it badly enough I'll get it sooner or later, probably.
