I got up earlyish this morning (8:30 or so) after a good night's sleep, though I hadn't slept at all well for the last few days.

The "FOR SALE" sign goes out on my lawn on Tuesday, so I have a lot to do before then to get my house even remotely ready to show - trying to cut down clutter as much as possible.

I have a storage trunk that has been sitting in my front hall for... a long time! I bought it a few years ago, then found to my consternation that it was lined with smelly woodchip. I had lined it with Contac-Paper, and ended up having to use spray adhesive to get that to stick, and made kind of a mess with it, so that there were areas of the trunk interior that were kind of sticky. Anything I stored in there had to be stored in plastic bags first, and it was no fun. So I opened up the trunk a couple of days ago and found that the lining paper wasn't even sticking anymore and needed to be redone. I peeled it off, threw it away, and started to think about what I'd replace it with.

I had some pretty artisan papers, but decided not to use them, partly because of their size - too much measuring and cutting was going to be involved, and I'd really bought them for book arts. I ended up settling on a thick floral wrapping paper and mod podge for adhesive (so that I could brush it OVER the paper, as well as under it, and seal edges, and it would all dry and harden nicely). Once I got to work this morning, it went pretty quickly - took two or three hours, done in four sections, and it looks OK, not great. It doesn't HAVE to look great; it just has to be a place where I can put stuff. & if I wind up hating it, I can redo it yet again, another time when I have more time. The four sections were all interior - lid, two bottom side walls, other two bottom side walls, bottom.

Anyway, I accomplished a few other things, but I couldn't tell you what they were. I expected relining the trunk to be an easy job. It exhausted me! Within twenty minutes of finishing it I could hardly stand up; my legs were too tired and weak to support me. I crawled back into bed around 3:30 PM and slept for something like four or five hours.

Now I'm awake again, feeling refreshed, and I watched Pillow Talk, and have plenty to do this evening before I crawl back into bed, exhausted again.

I also have to figure out what to put in the trunk! Can't be anything too heavy. It's good for things that I don't want to get crushed. I could just put winter clothes into it, but I have big plastic storage bins that can also be used for that, so right now I'm considering action figures and/or board games and/or toys/dolls/etc. Books would be too heavy. I have storage bins for my yarn and my craft supplies, though that's many small bins and it might be nice to have something large where almost everything can go in one place. Any suggestions?
