Low-cost packing materials (for when you realize that you'll have to spend $300+ on packing peanuts to take care of all of your stuff):
Never throw away old magazines.
Have a living room haunted with them.
I mean, you're an arteeste, right?
You save these things for collage anyway, don't you?
I thought so.
Buy strip-style paper shredder. ($15-20)***
Shred magazines, 5pp at a time.
Use shredded magazines as packing material.
Because you are a genius.
***Actually, I bought the paper shredder a few years ago... I'm thinking 3 years ago. I've just never used it. It's been sitting quietly boxed in the corner of my kitchen. Well, now it is unboxed and in use. Even if I had to go buy one, it costs about as much as maybe 4 bags of packing peanuts - and we've already been through at least 10 bags! We need lots more packing material. I'm sure the cost/benefit analysis makes sense to other people, too.
